Considering all the ice and snow that the area has gotten recently, I was thinking about getting an insurance quote on an SUV. Though that would be more for the snow than the ice. After all, four wheel drive is nothing but four wheel slide on an icy road. But it would be a better drive if there's three feet of snow outside, right?
Movie review: Moon

Against my wishes, my husband rented Moon from one of the local Redboxes. I had no interest in watching a science fiction movie along the lines of 2001. Luckily, I was completely wrong about the film. While it is a drama (not usually my thing), it is eloquently executed. There is little sound and almost fewer characters. Yet this solitude is what makes the movie so emotionally moving. You feel bad for Sam and his predicament. (No, I won't tell you what it is. It's a big spoiler!) I'd almost like to see a sort-of sequel to it, but I think that would completely ruin the uniqueness of this one. This is a movie that I can definitely recommend to anyone.
I'm hungry!
I think I may need some sort of natural appetite suppressant. I almost always feel hungry unless I eat a lot of food. It's sad! I don't want to eat so much but I just don't feel full. I even try the 'drinking lots of water' trick. It helps a little but not enough. Are there any other tricks to curbing hunger? Maybe I should just eat carrots all day when I'm not eating a meal?
Tobacco products
Awhile ago, I posted a video about the electronic cigarettes I tried. I also tried smoking a pipe, but it didn't go very well. That's another one that I think I need flavored tobacco to enjoy it properly. My husband and I have also been pondering trying discount cigars...but neither of us particularly like the smell of cigars. I don't know that smoking one would change how awful the smoke smells. Do any of you smoke cigars?
JDorama review: Kisarazu Cat's Eye: The Movie

Winter and dry skin
Just when we thought the snow was over, we're expected to get a few more inches today. As a matter of fact, the snow is coming down kinda hard right now. The forecasters aren't expecting anything too major, but we're looking at somewhere around six inches. Besides the whole shoveling thing, I also hate winter because I get a lot of dry skin due to using heaters and such. My husband has some slight problems with eczema so this year he has tried using a humidifier whenever we're home. It seems to be working pretty well. I haven't noticed any dry patches on my daughter, like I usually do. I hope it makes him more comfortable too.
Happy Valentine's Day!
That time again
Ahhhh!! My hormones are raging this weekend. That means that my pretty little face is all sorts of broken out. *sob* What's the best acne treatment you guys know of? I don't want anything too harsh that will dry out my skin. My skin is already pretty dry thanks to winter. (It really is a stupid season.) Homemade recipes or store-bought works for me. Opinions go!
Universal self-esteem issues
I was reading an article about eating disorders in Japan and I found it pretty interesting. Japanese people tend to have slimmer body types so I didn't realize that they had diet pill ads like we do in the US. (I wonder if they have clinislim review websites too or are their diet ads all in print?) It must be very difficult to weigh so little yet think you are so fat. Granted, there are skinny little things in the US that think they are huge too. I just didn't know how universal that feeling is.

Here's a video from someone in Philadelphia taken after the second snowstorm rolled through. It's crazy.
