Over the weekend, my husband and I adopted two female chinchillas. Here is a picture of them. The smaller one in the front is named Rukia and the larger one in the back is named Orihime. (Though I have taken to calling Orihime 'Hime.') They are so adorable! We're currently waiting for a wheel that we ordered for them to arrive. I hope that there will be some quick weight loss for Hime. It's difficult to tell if she's fat, since she doesn't run around as much as Rukia does, or if she's just built bigger. I guess we'll see after they get running on the wheel!
Downtime and vacation planning
There were some very heavy storms that ran through our area over the weekend. Unfortunately, the high winds and load of rain knocked out power to our house for awhile. That meant our server was offline for a few days. I'm sure there are people that would be OK with this. After all, it's not like I can control the weather. However, I hate it when the site isn't working. But we're back online so things can get back to normal. I've been helping my mother try to find someplace nice for my family to go for vacation. There's 7 of us total, meaning it's quite a chore to find somewhere that fits everyone's wants. One of the current ideas is to rent a houseboat on a lake for a few days. I'm not a big fan of water, but I suppose I can put up with it for a few days to make everyone else happy. I'm going to need to figure out how to lose weight fast though. I don't want to spend all week in a bathing suit looking like a whale!

Money sucks.
My husband is calling various insurance companies today for a car insurance quote. Of course, this is an attempt to save money. Like most people, my husband didn't get a raise this year and his health insurance rates went up. My raise just covered the rise in my health insurance rate. So that means we aren't doing a whole lot better than we were last year. It would be nice if we could get just a little farther up the ladder. I don't see it happening any time soon though. It's depressing.
Not the pretty boys!
I know I haven't posted in awhile. I just don't have anything to talk about. Sorry. Today I will give you an interview with a (supposed) ex-employee of a visual kei record label. It is a very long interview and I'm not really sure how true it is. (I would venture to guess about 50% is true and 50% is made up.) But it is an interesting read anyway. Even if it is all fake. The Long Interview
What a beautiful day
For once, it was a gorgeous day out. Instead of sitting around the house watching my LCD TV, I went out with my sister and her boyfriend to do some shopping. None of bought much of anything. It was just nice to get out of the house and not be surrounded by snow or need to bundle up. It's the first day in months that I could go outside without a jacket. I'm ready for you summertime!
Updating the house
My husband recently replaced the faucet in our kitchen. It would leak badly every time we'd use the dishwasher. Now I've turned my attention to the bathroom. So far, everything is still working properly. However, it looks like it belongs in the late 70s. A new sink and perhaps one of the Toto toilets would help. And either a new carpet or some tiling instead. Anything would be better than what is there now.
No swimsuits!
AH! I just realized that it'll be swimsuit season really soon. I love the summer but I hate swimsuits. They make me feel like a whale. And I'm not fond of weight loss diet supplement things because they aren't really healthy for you. I know weight loss isn't supposed to be easy. It would just be nice if it were EASIER. Doing a lot of work without seeing any results is depressing.
Skin problems
The winter made my skin dry, which was gross but easy enough to deal with. Now that the weather is starting to warm up, I'm beginning to break out again. I'm not sure if I should start some complicated regimen or just buy a tube of tretinoin and do spot treatments. It's not my entire face. It's mostly the t-zone area. Well, less my forehead and more my cheeks and nose. The I-area? Help!
