More Zumba stuff!

I've been trying to think of some interesting ways to get the word out about my Zumba class. The new Zumbawear line debuted today so I'm thinking about picking up one of the new instructor shirts for me to wear around town. My daughter's school has their open house in a couple of weeks. I could easily wear one of the shirts there. Another thought is advertising flags. I could put a few along the major roads in town. Since I live in a pretty small town, there aren't lot of major roads. I could probably get a dozen or two and easily cover the entire town. It's a possibility.

The mess!

I definitely need some sort of cable management system in my house. There are just tons of wires running all over the place. Under my desk is the worst. Computer cables, monitor cables, keyboard cables, mouse cables....it's a mess. How do you keep your cables from running rampant? Just tie them all together so they aren't all willy nilly or do you have something better? I want suggestions!

Vacation ideas!

The weather is supposed to be pretty nice this week. Despite the predicted thunderstorms, it's supposed to be in the 70s all week. Of course, that makes me think of summer vacation. I would love to spend a week at the beach again...though I'm not sure that my husband or my daughter would like it. I'm still going to look at some vacation rentals at the Outer Banks to see if anything good turns up. It would be so nice to spend an entire week just laying on the beach, napping in the sun. With sunscreen on, obviously!

Eyewear

I really need to get new contact lenses. I have an appointment next Saturday for an eye exam so I can order more. Of course, this leads me to eyeglasses. I already have a pair that I wear a lot but I probably should get a new pair. (Our bird has chewed one of the arms.) On the other hand, if I wear my contacts more, I could get fancy Gucci sunglasses. But I don't really like putting in contacts every morning. Maybe I should think about Lasik....

Happy Easter!

I'm not a big fan of doing Easter-type things like dying eggs or making candy baskets. Luckily, my mother-in-law enjoys that. (I would rather go to a Happy Easter store online and buy everything. Less mess!) Today, we'll be going to my in-laws' house, where they have an egg hunt for my daughter. Thankfully they are plastic eggs filled with money. I'd hate to have to figure out what to do with a dozen hard boiled eggs. I am not a fan of eggs.

I hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Favorite Friday

Aha! My Favorite Friday this week is the extended trailer for the new season of Doctor Who...which starts TOMORROW. Yay! I wonder which president it is the Doctor visits. There seems to be modern office furniture but I'm not sure how much the furniture in the oval office changes. It will be so awesome to have the Doctor and the gang in the US. I kinda wonder if there will be any references to the new US Torchwood series. I doubt it. That's two different channels. Yay Doctor!

What the heck?

I'm going to take some time today to try to find a good video for Favorite Friday. While I'm looking, I'm going to resist the urge to crawl under an electric blanket and nap. I'm not sure what is going on with the weather. Once again we went from an 80 degree day to a 40 degree day. And it's suppose to rain or thunderstorm all weekend. This sucks. Bring on the summer! Get rid of the cold!

JDorama review: Tomorrow

Title: Tomorrow Broadcast dates: 7/6/08 - 9/7/08 Number of episodes: 10 Genre: Medical Drama Cast: Takenouchi Yutaka, Kanno Miho, Ogawa Tamaki Plot: Moriyama Kohei (Takenouchi) quit his job as a doctor 8 years ago. Suddenly, he finds himself thrust back into the medical world to help save a dying hospital. What is good: The main actors were very good. What is bad: Sometimes the storyline drags. Letter rating: B+

While I'm normally not an overly emotional person, I found myself brought to tears a few times during this show. The passion and dedication that Tanaka Aiko (Kanno) has for her job and her patients is awesome. I think it was that character that made me cry more than anyone.

I don't want to say too much about the show because, really, everyone should watch it. There is no romance so don't expect hearts in anyone's eyes. For those of you that are squeamish, there is a little bit of blood but nothing overly gorey. It's just good drama.

Delayed

Alas, I did not finish my jdorama yesterday. I got sidetracked by a few things and completely forgot about it. Instead, I will be watching it today. Sorry for the delay! One of the things that sidetracked me yesterday was brainstorming ideas for my Zumba class. I'd like to make the registration time more efficient. I wonder if using a bluetooth barcode scanner would help. People could buy a card with a barcode on it then we just scan it when they come. It would work a bit like a prepaid phone card. You put 10 classes on it and the software counts down how many classes you've used. I wonder how well that would work. It's definitely not something I'd do anytime soon due to the cost but it is something to keep in mind.
