More Zumba Thoughts

This kinda goes along with my last post. If I start my own business, would it be a good idea to get an online business degree? I don't need it to be all "Hey! I have a business degree!" as much as I could probably use the information they'd give me. It would, most likely, be a lot cheaper than taking an offline class. I would just need to find a good school that would give me a good basis in the business world.

Zumba Stuff

Lately I've been thinking about where I want to take this Zumba thing. I know I've only been teaching for a month but I also know that I need to plan any changes way in advance. There's a company that is opening franchises in my general area (not my immediate area but PA in general) and I've been pondering if that is something I'd want to do. I'm just not sure if a franchise is the right choice. This place claims to help you with the start-up costs, which I imagine come in the form of an easy personal loan or something. Since I don't have $10,000 to throw at it right now, it might be easier...but it might end up putting me in a lot of debt too. Ahh....decisions... At least I have plenty of time to think about it.

Home security

For some reason, I freak out a bit about whether our house is secure. While I don't go around re-checking if doors are locked, sometimes I do lay in bed wondering if my husband really locked the back door. Ideally, I'd like to get one of the smart home systems for security but, since we have so many animals, I'm not sure if they would set off the detectors. After all, there's the cat that roams at night, the two chinchillas that run in their cage at night, and who knows what the bird does when we're not home. The dogs are crated when we're out so they aren't a big worry. Maybe we could find one that doesn't detect animal movement. I don't know if that actually exists.

Only a few months left of school

The end of the school year is coming up. My daughter has a 'Biography Tea' to do in two weeks. The kids pick a famous person to research then they have to dress up as that person and present a biography to the class. My daughter picked Milton Hershey. It would have been tons easier if she picked a woman but I'll do my best to dress her up as Mr. Hershey. Even though my daughter is only in third grade, I've found myself looking at class rings online. I kinda like the one I bought when I was in high school but I wish I didn't get the mascot's image on the gemstone. (I should note that my high school's mascot is an indian.) It would have looked nicer plain. Maybe, when her time comes around to pick a ring, I can nudge her into something better.

New bed ponderances

During my lunch break, I saw a commercial for adjustable beds. I wonder how comfortable they are. I have a lot of back pain and, when I get up in the morning, I'm very stiff. Supposedly an adjustable bed would help ease my aches but I don't know anyone that has one to get a real opinion. (Sorry, I don't trust 'personal testimonials' that are on TV.) Does anyone have any suggestions for a new bed? It doesn't necessarily have to be adjustable...just comfortable.

Don't ever buy me jewelry

I am picky about my jewelry. Mostly about necklaces though. I like them to lay right on my chest. If they are too short, I feel choked. I'm not sure if a necklace extender would help any. I've never used one before. Anyway, if they are too long, I'm always getting my hands caught when I answer the phone or something. Yes, I am a klutz. I'm not as picky with earrings. I just like them to look nice and not be too heavy. Necklaces though? A half inch could ruin everything.

Such Nice Weather

The weather has been amazing this week. It has been warm and sunny. Today, it's supposed to hit 85 degrees! Time to start looking for baseball gifts so we can get out and run around in the sun. (I am ignoring the fact that rain is supposed to be rolling in tonight.) It's a beautiful day to be outside! Too bad I'm stuck in my tiny, claustrophobic office. At least the sun will still be up when I leave.

More Zumba stuff!

I've been trying to think of some interesting ways to get the word out about my Zumba class. The new Zumbawear line debuted today so I'm thinking about picking up one of the new instructor shirts for me to wear around town. My daughter's school has their open house in a couple of weeks. I could easily wear one of the shirts there. Another thought is advertising flags. I could put a few along the major roads in town. Since I live in a pretty small town, there aren't lot of major roads. I could probably get a dozen or two and easily cover the entire town. It's a possibility.

The mess!

I definitely need some sort of cable management system in my house. There are just tons of wires running all over the place. Under my desk is the worst. Computer cables, monitor cables, keyboard cables, mouse cables....it's a mess. How do you keep your cables from running rampant? Just tie them all together so they aren't all willy nilly or do you have something better? I want suggestions!

Vacation ideas!

The weather is supposed to be pretty nice this week. Despite the predicted thunderstorms, it's supposed to be in the 70s all week. Of course, that makes me think of summer vacation. I would love to spend a week at the beach again...though I'm not sure that my husband or my daughter would like it. I'm still going to look at some vacation rentals at the Outer Banks to see if anything good turns up. It would be so nice to spend an entire week just laying on the beach, napping in the sun. With sunscreen on, obviously!
