Perhaps a new TV?

I'm thinking about getting a new TV for my bedroom. The one we currently have is OK but it takes up a lot of space. I was trying to find some good deals on lcd tvs but I'm not sure I really want one with a screen that large. Our bedroom isn't huge and I'd hate to have a television take up a ton of room. Also, our cat spends most of her time in our bedroom. I don't really want something on an unsteady stand that she can knock over. Of course, the other 'problem' is that we don't actually watch a lot of television in our bedroom. It's mostly used by my daughter when she doesn't want to watch what we are watching downstairs. (In kid-speak, that means she wants to watch another re-run of "Good Luck Charlie" or "Shake It Up" and my husband and I can only stand watching one episode so many times before we have to tell her to turn it off.) And I can't remember the last time that TV set was turned on.

This is why it is so hard for me to make a decision. I see something I want and I like but then I rationalize it and turn it into a big deal. Gah!

New life paths

Before I started teaching Zumba, I had a ton of ideas for new career paths. For awhile, I thought about going back to college for psychology. I even looked at Psychiatric Technician Jobs to see what the job market for it was in my area. Unfortunately, I think I might be a little too old to go back to school for something like that. But that is why I am thankful for Zumba. I love teaching it and there are so many ways I can better myself without having to go to a 4-year school. I'm hoping to build my classes up enough that I'll be able to quit my current full time job and teach Zumba (and some other dance-fitness programs) instead. The lesson? Keep your eyes open. Sometimes what you need isn't what you are looking for.

Updates should not be difficult.

We've been having a problem with our computers at work lately. Well, that's not completely true. We've been having a problem with Trend Micro's updates, which has screwed up a bunch of the computers. There was another update last night. When I came in this morning, I couldn't even use our intranet-based sign-in site. When I opened Outlook, I could open emails but not attachment or links within the emails. It took about a half hour for Trend Micro to finally calm down. I dread the next update.

ZumbAtomic Complete!

Another busy weekend has passed. Luckily, I think this is the last of the really busy weekends. I spent my Saturday getting licensed to teach ZumbAtomic. That's Zumba for kids. So now I can do things like birthday parties and after-school programs. Since our group was so small, we finished training early. It still left me so exhausted that, when I got home, I fell right to sleep after my shower and I slept for about 3 hours. Thankfully, this training wasn't so hard on the body. When I took my original Basic training, I couldn't walk for a few days. This time around, I was only really tired that night.

Now I have to look around to find someplace I can teach kids. Wish me luck!

Zero to Crazy

This week has gone from zero to crazy in no time! While it started out nice and easy, things have been piling up all over the place. I have another Zumba instructor training class this weekend. This time it is for Zumbatomics, which is basically Zumba for kids. I also have to get the brakes replaced on my car, get my oil changed, and get my car inspected by the end of the month. (I'm hoping it won't be too expensive, but it usually is.) Not to mention that my 10-year wedding anniversary is zooming up. Why aren't there more hours in a day?!

A new jdorama has begun!

I started another jdorama yesterday. This time around it's Yankee-kun to Megane-chan. It is looking promising, so far. Unfortunately, I may not have time to finish the first episode today. (It always kills me when the first episode is longer than 1 hour.) I have to go to the store (with coupons in hand!) to buy my stuff for this week's lunches. Normally I do this on Mondays but I wasn't feeling well yesterday and I had a can of soup to eat. But, if I'm lucky and traffic doesn't kill me, I might actually get back in time to finish that long episode. Then we'll be right on track to kick this series out quickly!

I wish I was a girly girl

Whenever I was out this weekend, my eyes kept drifting toward those dead sea nail care kits. You know, the ones that have these buffer things that make your nails super shiny. Unfortunately, I don't really have the patience to sit and buff the crap out of my nails. And I'm not sure I need super shiny nails. What I do need a good spa day with a massage and a facial and maybe a nice manicure. That sounds so relaxing and awesome. Now if I only had the time...

Favorite Friday

Because I am in a bit of a silly mood and I am very happy that it is Friday, I am giving you a silly video today. It could probably use a bit of background though. Gackt appeared on Arashi's television show as a "older brother." His job was to give the boys some sort of advice on life. Gackt, being Gackt, decided to teach them how to woo a woman. In this particular segment, he was telling them to eat very spicy food...you'll see why at the end. Imagine that the Arashi boys are supposed to be women out on a date with Gackt.

*giggle* I wonder if any of the boys needed some sort of discount dental supplies to help them keep their mouths in tact after eating the spicy food. Gackt likes his food super spicy so I can only imagine the face-melting feeling they got!

Jdorama review: Shiawase ni Narou yo

Title: Shiawase ni Narou yo Also known as: Let's Be Happy Broadcast dates: 4/18/11 - 6/27/11 Number of episodes: 11 Genre: Romantic Comedy Cast: Katori Shingo, Kuroki Meisa, Fujiki Naohito Plot: Takakura Junpei (Katori) is one of the most successful advisors at a company that helps people find their marriage partners. Yanagisawa Haruna (Kuroki) is a beautiful yet heartbroken woman who suddenly decides to enter the company as a member. When Takakura falls in love with Yanagiawa, life turns topsy turvy. What is good: The path Takakura and Yanagisawa's relationship takes is slow but very realistic. What is bad: Some of the side characters were a little annoying. Letter rating: B

I am a big fan of Katori Shingo but I've never really watched any of his dramas. Luckily, I enjoyed it. I thought that all of the main actors did very well. Though, I have to admit that my favorite character was the bumbling Komatsubara Susumu played by Ohkura Koji. I almost wish he was the main characters of the series.

If you do decide to watch the show, keep in mind that it is about relationships. Therefore, the story doesn't progress particularly fast. Also, there are a few throwaway characters that are brought in to either cause problems or just fill some time. Neither of these problems are enough to keep the show from being entertaining.

Also, if you've watched Boss, keep an eye out for the cross-over collaboration. Boss will take over the drama world!
