Tubi lists Woman To Woman as a thriller. I wouldn’t call it a thriller. Then again, most of these tubi movies aren’t the thrillers they claim to be. But this one, in particular? Definitely a drama.
Shirley (Krystal Monique) and her daughter, Angela (Chelsie Sutherland), have been living a good life since Shirley’s husband died. Barbara (Tonja Brown) and her daughter, Erin (Sydni Janeé), have had the opposite experience, even though Shirley’s late husband was also Erin’s father. As a result, Erin is very resentful of Angela. So Erin has some friends kidnap Angela, hoping that Shirley will pay the very large ransom to get her back.
Reading that description, I know it sounds like a thriller. But 90% of this movie is Shirley yelling at everyone who brings up Barbara’s name, Erin yelling at Barbara for being a bad mother and a drunk, and Angela just trying to have a relationship with her newly found sister. To be honest, all of that gets dull real fast. Like, I get being mad at the woman that slept with your husband but, at some point, you just have to get over it. Or, at the very least, be less mad about it. Screaming at everyone isn’t going to get you very far.
Rating: How can it be woman to woman if one woman won’t talk to the other?
