No more water!

There is some massive flooding going on in my area of the state. Luckily, my house is on a bit of a hill so we are unlikely to have any flood problems ourselves. However, many of the bridges in/out of town are getting close to being underwater. Of course, there is supposed to be more rain tonight. The rain isn't supposed to stop until Monday. (I hope it doesn't rain on Sunday so my daughter can play tennis.) It will be terrible if the rain keeps going. A friend of mine showed me a site called My Drama List. You can keep track of what Asian dramas you have watched. As I was filling out My List, I realized that I am missing a few reviews on here. I could have sworn I wrote reviews for the three seasons of Trick but they aren't here. I'm not sure I remember the shows well enough to review them properly and I'm not even sure I could re-download them to re-watch them. I will have to figure out a good solution.

A New Look

Since winter is over and spring has supposedly sprung (though you'd never know it around here!), I am giving the site a new look. I kinda like this one but I'm not sure I love it. Of course, this means there may be a few different looks before I settle on one. Feel free to give me your opinions on this theme. If you think you've found a better one, put the link in a comment. I'll be sure to check it out!

New Year, New Look!

Welcome to 2011! The Geek is starting the new year with a new wintry look. It's almost too bad that I'll have to change it when winter ends! I do have quite a few reviews to post. I'm planning on starting those either this afternoon or tomorrow, depending on how busy I get. Please let me know if any of the new things aren't working for you. I'll do my best to fix any problems as soon as possible.

Let's get this new year started!

End of the Year!

Our holiday hiatus is almost over. I hope everyone is having a good time. Here are some things to look forward to from The Geek Within: * More movie reviews (my husband has a RedBox addiction!) * Jdorama reviews will resume finally! * football trophies (OK, not really....) * TV show reviews (I'm planning on going back to the 'per episode' format instead of the 'overall' format)

With the TV show reviews resuming, I'm planning on changing the look of TGW a bit. Since there will be spoilers, I'm going to try to keep them behind a cut. That way you don't have to read them if you don't want to.

I'll see you again in the new year!!

Coming Soon

Coming up on The Geek Within: I still have one more play from my New York trip to talk about. I just need to do a little more research on the cast members' names since it was slightly different than usual. This should be up by the end of the week. (Maybe today, if we're lucky!)

Back to j-dorama! I'm currently watching ROOKIES. Though I've only finished the first two episodes. I probably won't be able to watch much more until this weekend. I'll have to figure out my schedule for this week.

Until then, I shall be doing research on Christmas party invitations for my work holiday party. Yes, it's September and I already need to be thinking about these sorts of things. It sucks but it must be done.

Update!

Lately, The Geek has been having some server problems. Our server box has randomly been turning itself off. As a result, the site has moved. We were on vacation this past week so we weren't able to focus a lot of energy to the switch. But now the change is done. I have to re-configure the site's theme and some other items but, for the most part, things should be working better now. Please let me know if you experience anything weird. Thank you!

The Status of Me

I know I've been really quiet lately. We've had a lot of changes this summer. My husband started a new job about three months ago, which has been going very well, but has brought on a lot of changes. (Maybe I'll be able to start my own home based business so I can stop working in an office as a grunt.) Also, my daughter's schedule has been very hectic. She's taking a dance class this summer, as well as continuing her swimming lessons. And, while she does spend a few weeks at my in-laws' house, I end up missing her terribly during those weeks so I don't get a lot accomplished. Needless to say, summer is heading to a close. We have a vacation coming up (more about that in another post) then a quick weekend trip then school starts again. With any luck, I'll be back on track doing the things that I love - listening to music, watching jdoramas, and writing. This summer has gone by fast!

Newness!

As you can see, we have gone through a bit of a redesign. Besides the beautiful new template, I have also listed every jdorama that I have reviewed on the right side of the page. They are categorized by television series, movie, and special, depending on how it was released. I hope that this will help those of you that come here solely for my reviews. Now you don't have to slog through years of reviews to find the show you want to read about! There will probably be some other changes coming as well. I'm thinking about revamping the format of my reviews, but I haven't reached a decision yet. Please let me know if there are any other changes you'd like to see!
